Tips for Delicious Barbecues

When it comes to barbecue, I can’t help drooling. Although I know that barbecued food is not healthy, I am still crazy about its taste. It’s so irresistible that I couldn’t help myself. To assuage my guilt, I have some tips for eating a little bit more healthily.

Clean the Grill Grate

It’s inevitable to scrub the grate with water stains cleaning brush before grilling. After you scrub down all the remains, you should wipe some edible oil evenly over the grate as maintenance.

Eat Some Salad in Advance

Before you start, you should eat some greens. According to research, greens could reduce calorie. Since barbecued food is the food that is high in calories, you should eat some salad in advance.

Don’t Eat Chips

As for snacks, I would prefer nuts than chips. Almond and pistachio nut are much better than chips, because they contains protein and fibre. Even though it’s not as crispy as chips, its taste is very well.

Fruit as Dessert

No more delicious cupcakes or ice cream is made as dessert. Some fresh fruit mix with yogurt is super yummy. Needless to say, it’s much healthier for you.

Don’t Flip the Meat in a Hurry

If you try to flip the steak by using barbecue supplies before the seared crust that has be developed, the steak would stick to the grate absolutely. And it’s pretty difficult for you to brush off.

Using the Proper Fat

Don’t misunderstand my words. Using the proper fat means that you should choose the right kind of fat. Olive oil is not suitable for grilling, since the food with olive oil would taste bitter. And peanut oil and vegetable oil might develop a thick smoke during the barbecue. In this situation, organic butter may be the better option for you.
