Part 2: The Xiaomi Mi Dafang Smart Monitor Camera in the Test!

The control via app
Now let's look at the structure of the app. Those of you who already use other Xiaomi products know the app, but still, the camera offers another new "view" of its possibilities.

 Xiaomi Smart Home

The first screenshots show the commissioning of the camera, as well as the update to the latest firmware version. On the other pictures, you can see the camera image, a part of the settings and the control options that the camera has to offer. Everything is, as we know it from Xiaomi, tidy and clear!

However, there is something to complain about, the sometimes incomplete translation into English. There may be problems here. I hope this will be improved soon.

My experiences so far
The Xiaomi Mi Dafang smart monitor camera makes a solid impression. It can be quickly and intuitively work with her and she has had no downtime or the like. The control and panning of the camera are rather slow and spongy, but that's not what you do to shoot an action film but to see at home after the right.

The video quality Xiaomi Mi Dafang Smart Monitor Camera is fine and also good enough to see what's going on. With 15 FPS, the picture seems a little sluggish, but again you have to get back in the back of the head, what the camera costs and what you may expect.

The "shooting" of pictures and videos works flawlessly. Depending on the storage media available, the files are stored on the smartphone or memory card. Also, the motion detection works so far perfectly.

Conclusion
As always, the products of Xiaomi are a price-performance cracker! This also applies to the Xiaomi Smart Home Monitor Camera. However, it is important that the product does not have a CE mark!

However, there is also the fact that it only runs on the Chinese servers so far and not everything has been translated perfectly into English yet. During the setup, the app speaks with a Chinese, which most probably not really helps here. However, if you can overlook that and believe that Xiaomi will continue to gain a foothold here in Germany, it will not bother you and it should be just a matter of time before these bugs are resolved.

So if you want to have a camera to check everything, you are well advised with the Xiaomi Smart home Monitor Camera. However, to fully monitor a home and land, I would rely on a more professional and cloud-independent system. At least servers in Germany would be important to me in this case.

Otherwise, I hope that you have the post "The Xiaomi Mi Dafang Smart Monitor Camera in the test!" Helped on. If there are any questions left, just leave a comment below.
