Install a Wireless Doorbell
You need to install a new bell at home, but you wonder how to pull a wire from outside to the chime inside. Forget the long cumbersome wiring and follow our advice to install a wireless doorbell.
The tools needed
a bubble level;
a stepladder ;
a drill ;
screws and ankles;
a screwdriver ;
a hammer.
The steps to install your wireless doorbell
Step 1: the location of the doorbell
First, you need to determine the distance between the bell button and the chime inside the house. For a wireless doorbell placed directly on the front door, a short range (10 to 30 meters) should suffice. However, if you put the push button at the gate, you will certainly need more power. Some wifi doorbell systems can cover up to 200 meters.
Step 2: The number and place of chimes
Also, determine the number of sound boxes (chimes) to be installed indoors. To be sure to hear the wireless bell, it may be wise to place one in the living room and another upstairs. And why not a third in the garage.
If your home already has a wireless doorbell, remove it so that there is no interference between the two devices.
Step 3: Install the bell button
Install the wireless doorbell button in a convenient location that is easily visible. Place it 1m50 high, or higher if you want children to not reach it. If the button is placed on a wall, you will need to drill according to the template of the bottom plate and place solid dowels (your bell button will be permanently subjected to weather and hands more or less delicate). If you install your wifi doorbell button on wood, wood screws will do the trick.
Install your chime in a place where you can hear it throughout the house.
Tip: Be aware that there are practical transportable chimes that you can take with you to the bottom of the garden when you garden. Also, note that some wireless doorbells are equipped with a light. Aimed at people who are hard of hearing, this device can also be welcome to not disturb baby during a nap.
