How to Pick an Orange
The
orange is bright, beautiful and very healthy fruit. It is an indispensable
source of vitamins C, A, B1, B2, PP and minerals such as iron, magnesium,
phosphorus, calcium, sodium and potassium. Oranges, you could enjoy with the fruit utensils,
are loved not only for favor, but also sweet, with a characteristic sour taste,
succulent flavor and unique aroma. How choose the most sweet and delicious
oranges in the stores?
1. Ask
the seller the name of the variety and where it was brought. This is usually
written on the boxes or in the accompanying documents. The best citrus
exporters are the United States and the Mediterranean countries, since the
climate there is Sunny and favorable for the growth of oranges, and they are
fresh picked with the orange picker tool.
2. Weigh
the fruit of the orange in your hands. If it is heavier than their partners,
that means more mature, which means sweeter and juicier.
3. Smell
the fragrance from the orange. In the process of aging, its flavor becomes
brighter.
4. Choose
a medium-sized orange. As a rule, the smaller the fruits are tastier than the
larger ones.
5. Check
the time for gathering oranges. The fruits were collected in November and
December, not only sweet, but also they could be kept much longer.
6. Look
at the orange. As a rule, oranges are sweeter with a pronounced navel. It's a
little extra fruit that is at the base of the orange.
7. Pay
attention to the surface of the fruit. The larger pores in the crust, the
tastier it will be. Ripe delicious orange has a little loose skin, which is
easy to clean. But the dense non-porous surface suggests that orange is still
maturing and ripening.
